What a fantastic setup from Katie! She's using a traditional three-sisters planting, raising bees, and composting! We can't wait to see the bountiful harvest the rest of the season brings her. Do you utilize any permaculture techniques in your garden? Please share them with us!

We took a walk around the property this morning and almost everything is looking well. Our three sisters are nearly as tall as I am. The compost is nice and warm inside and the bees are highly active. We are having some problems with deer eating our beets and okra and we've noticed a bit of rust on the apple trees but over all I am really happy with the progress I am seeing. We started with bare land so seeing it producing without the aid of chemical treatments is so beautiful to me. Our goal has always been a natural symbiosis between the soil, plants and animals and I am finally starting to see the fruits of this labor. Permaculture is a lot of work on the front end but the rewards keep on coming.
