Check out this perfect head of cabbage Steve harvested last week! We still find it fascinating how the disorganized leaves of a cabbage seedling can come together into such a perfect ball of tasty goodness.

Red cabbage at last 💜 I love red cabbage - even though I think it should be called purple cabbage 😊 This is Red Flare, grown from seeds planted on 26 March and only just hearted up now after nearly 7 months. If you ➡️ you can see what the seedlings looked like in early May. The cabbages seem to have taken ages to grow this year, another example perhaps of climate change and the weird weather year of 2020 🤷🏻♂️ I intend to make some beautiful slaw with this as well as maybe trying a purple sauerkraut 🤔 I may also cut into wedges and simply roast with a drizzle of oil and seasoning and maybe some chilli flakes. Cabbages are a prime example of a veg that tastes so much better when homegrown than shop bought. I hardly ever ate it until I grew it. Happy hump day to you - raining here 🤣 #redcabbage #purplecabbage #slaw
